Hi! I’m Sophia, a fourth-year BFA Film & Television student at DePaul University, concentrating in Production Design with a minor in Architecture and Urbanism. I’m originally from southern New Mexico (the photo above is one I took at White Sands!) and am now based in Chicago.

My love for visual storytelling started in middle school when I joined a film and broadcast magnet program because my best friend signed up. What began as a fun decision quickly turned into something I couldn’t imagine giving up. I continued creating throughout high school, earning multiple awards and traveling across the country for film competitions. That passion eventually led me to DePaul.

Since then, I’ve worked on a variety of student and independent productions, where I discovered my passion for production design. Through my work in film and my studies in architecture, I’ve developed a strong appreciation for interior design and the way space, materials, color, and texture can shape an experience and communicate emotion. Studying architecture has deepened the way I think about designing environments that feel intentional, immersive, and lived in.
